Description
Sony A7R Mark IV A body
R stands for resolution at Sony. The Sony A7R Mark IV A has a resolution of 61 megapixels. It also features a well-developed 35mm CMOS sensor and a powerful BIONZ X processor. These two ensure that you can enjoy high resolution, low noise, 15-stop dynamic range and high ISO sensitivity. The default is 100-32000, but you can expand it to 50-102,400.
The 5-axis image stabilisation is achieved by an algorithm that communicates with your FE lens. This is nice not only for photographers, but also videographers. Your images will be stable and sharp. Plus, with a system camera, you won't have to deal with a mirror flipping away making noise. This allows you to shoot silently, which benefits the spontaneity of the photo’s. People and animals will no longer be startled when you want to take a picture of them.
The difference between the Sony A7R IV and the Sony A7R IV A is the adjustable screen on the camera. Where the Sony A7R Mark IV uses 1,440,000 pixels, it has been upgraded to 2,359,296 million pixels in the A version. This is a huge improvement, allowing you to see more sharpness, detail and colours. Furthermore, the LCD screen has the ability to quickly and easily move through the menu and adjust your focus.
For filmmakers, the Sony A7R Mark IV A is suitable if you are looking for a handier model. Besides the ability to film in 4K across the full-width sensor, you can use S-Log2 and S-Log3. These picture profiles are praised for their wide dynamic range of up to 15-stops. This gives you full control over your images in post-processing. Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) is also available on the A7R IV to support an Instant HDR workflow. In addition, you can use the ECM-B1M Shotgun Microphone or the XLR Adaptor Kit (sold separately) during shooting to record high-quality sound with minimal loss of quality.
Sony’s autofocus is a much-praised feature. It is not only accurate due to its 567 focus points, but also easy to adjust while shooting by ééone tap on the screen. In addition, you have real-time eye autofocus. This autofocus finds and holds the eye of people and animals, even when in motion. Never a blurred image or missed moment again.
As a professional, you also value battery life and quick storage of your photo or film footage. Sony uses an NP-FZ100 battery. This has a large capacity so you can shoot for a long time. In addition, you want your images to be stored properly and preferably as quickly as possible. For that, the Sony A7R IV A uses two media slots for SD cards. This allows you to use two UHS-I or UHS-II cards. The card slots are behind a sliding-lock cover, so they are protected from outside influences and you can't accidentally open the cover.
To make sure you not only have a technically sound camera on the inside, but it also has a well-protected jacket. That's why Sony chooses to provide the camera with a durable and improved dust- and moisture-resistant housing. Built with an extremely lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, the camera also has an improved, extra tough lens mount. With an extra seal at all the camera's seams, battery compartment and media slots, you can be sure that you will take the best photos’s with this camera in all weather conditions.
