The Irix Cine Lens 150mm Macro 1:1 T3.0 for Sony E (metric) is the first of a new cinematography line from Irix featuring the full-frame sensor lens, ready for 8K UHD. This new line was created in close cooperation with professional cinematographers; their ideas and suggestions were an important factor in the design process.

The complex optical system is based on the same optical layout used in the Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1. The lens consists of 12 optical elements arranged in nine groups, four of which are high refractive index (HR) glass and three of which are low dispersion (ED) glass. Thanks to these elements, this lens offers outstanding high resolution, virtually no chromatic aberration and virtually no visible distortion (down to 0.1%). The optical system is equipped with an internal focusing system.

For camera operators, a good and sturdy housing is of great importance. Irix is known for its fine mechanical construction, and in the Cine range this has been taken even further, with an emphasis on excellent operating ergonomics and a high-precision mechanism. Quiet and smooth rotation of the focus ring was achieved thanks to the new MST lens positioning system - made specifically for the Irix Cine range. The Multi Start Thread mechanism, combined with the sealed housing, ensures durable and long-lasting operation of the lens under various atmospheric conditions, even in the most demanding situations. The focus ring rotation angle has been increased to 270 degrees, making focusing at any range easy and accurate.

With these optics, most attention has been paid to the aperture mechanism, with eleven aperture blades with rounded edges creating great bokeh and sharpness. The Irix Cine 150mm also significantly reduces diffraction effect when shooting at low aperture values. The unclipped aperture ranges from T3.0 to T32. The aperture ring rotates 75 degrees.

The Irix Cine 150 mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 lens stands out for its great ergonomics and design. The side edges of the focus gear rings are shielded by a special ring, creating a larger area for better manual control - while still being compatible with follow-focus systems. The markings on the lens are laser-engraved and treated with UV fluorescent paint to improve readability in low-light conditions.

The Irix Cine 150 mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 is designed to be a versatile tool in a filmmaker's hands, built to withstand various weather conditions. The housing features several seals to create a ??barrier against dust, rain and inadvertent water splashes. The sealed construction design ensures the safety of the optical lens system and camera sensor.

Exceptional functionality and innovative solutions are a distinctive feature of all Irix products. This lens is equipped with a unique Magnetic Mount System for accessories. The MMS system allows quick and easy attachment of various special accessories.
