Description
Nikkor Z 70-180mm f/2.8
With the Nikkor Z 70-180mm f/2.8, you get a multifunctional telephoto zoom lens that lets you take stunning shots, both up close and at a distance. The large and fixed aperture of f/2.8 makes this lens ideal for shooting and filming people, sports, events, landscapes, nature, cityscapes, in fact you can use it for everything, even in low light. As the lens has a short focus distance, you can take sharp shots even at close range.
Combine the lens with the Z Teleconverter TC-2.0x, which doubles the reproduction ratio of the lens to an almost life-size magnification of 0.96x, making it even suitable for macro photography. The lens has a lightweight construction with a weatherproof seal that also makes this a travel-friendly telephoto zoom lens. For example, the Nikkor Z 70-180mm f/2.8 weighs just 795 grams and has a compact length of 151 millimetres.
Because the lens has a fixed aperture of f/2.8 across the entire zoom range, you can create beautiful, blurred backgrounds with a stunning three-dimensional effect. If you combine the lens with a full-frame camera with built-in Z-series image stabilisation, you can slow shutter speeds to capture even more light without throwing up the ISO. That way you retain a lot of detail, even in low light.
The lens suppresses focus breathing allowing you to shoot film silently and easily shift focus from foreground to background. Autofocus is driven by a high-precision stepping motor that makes virtually no noise while tracking the subject. This is ideal for eye detection AF or in situations where it is important not to make too much noise.
