The Dörr DELTA 1000 is a reflector or mirror telescope based on the Newton construction. This design has proven itself over a long period of time. Generations of astronomers preferred the Newtonian design because of its various advantages. Despite the large focal length of 1000 mm and an aperture of 114 mm, the telescope tube is relatively compact. This is achieved by deflecting light using the primary and secondary mirrors. The mirrors not only make the telescope more compact, but also ensure that no chromatic aberrations occur - as can happen with refractor telescopes. The DELTA delivers very good optical quality. The Newton construction of this astronomical telescope offers a side view. This provides pleasant and effortless observing pleasure without having to bend down. As mirrors are easier to manufacture than lenses, the DELTA 1000 offers excellent value for money.

The telescope rests on an LT2 tripod with aluminium tripod legs. It combines high stability with low weight. This is a great advantage if you want to transport the telescope. The height of the tripod legs can be variably adjusted to ensure comfortable observation in an upright position - whatever your height. The triangular tray between the tripod legs is ideal for storing eyepieces and other accessories while observing.

The equatorial mount EQ-1 allows alignment of the telescope and accurate tracking of celestial bodies. The axes are aligned with the Earth's axis. As a result, only one axis needs to be moved to compensate for the earth's arcing rotation. Precise tracking of the celestial bodies to be observed can be performed evenly. The observing object always remains in the centre of the field of view. Therefore, the EQ-1 equatorial mount is also very suitable for high magnifications. Movement of the polar and declination axis, as well as tracking, is done manually via fine motion rotary knobs, each attached to a flexible axis. The movable counterweight and two tube clamps, which allow precise positioning of the telescope on the mount, keep the telescope optimally balanced.

The telescope's components are easy and quick to set up. Operating the telescope is also quite simple. While tracking objects manually, the focus can be accurately adjusted using two dials. The tracking knob rests on a flexible axis and can be precisely positioned to ensure comfortable operation for any body height. All adjustment options are designed so that even beginners can immediately operate the telescope intuitively. Whether children, teenagers or adults: nothing stands in the way of a successful start in the world of astronomy.

The viewfinder is placed parallel to the telescope tube and ensures that you can quickly find the celestial bodies you want to observe after a one-off adjustment. A viewfinder is necessary because the viewing angle of telescopes is so small due to high magnification that it is not possible to find celestial bodies. With the low magnification of only 5x, the viewfinder captures a larger area of the sky, making it easier to quickly align the telescope to the desired object.
